Now Contract And Outsourcing Employees Salaries Will Be Paid In The Account Only
Hyderabad, Jan 21 (Maxim News): The government has given good news to about 5 lakh contract and outsourcing employees in the state. Salaries will be deposited directly into their bank accounts from April. The Finance Department has decided to pay salaries in the most transparent manner without the involvement of middlemen and private agencies. Currently, the government is paying salaries to government employees through the IFMS (Integrated Financial Management System) system. From now on, the same system will be implemented for contract workers.
However, should they be given a special option in the current IFMS and have their salaries deposited? Or should they create a special web portal for them? The Finance Department is working on this. So far, the government has been depositing the salaries of contract and outsourcing employees to their HODs or agencies. However, the respective agencies are cutting the salaries of the employees and committing huge irregularities. It seems that the government has taken this decision. With this decision, the hard-earned money of lakhs of employees will no longer go to middlemen but will go directly to them. At the same time, it is hoped that there will be an opportunity to put an end to irregularities in corporations, various government organizations, universities, gurukuls, the health department, the minority welfare department and other sectors.
Currently, according to the latest statistics, there are 4.93 lakh contract and outsourcing employees in the state in public sector organizations. The government had earlier ordered people to update their details with Aadhaar, and in this process, the number of employees has increased slightly than previously expected and has now reached 5 lakh. The reason for this seems to be the inclusion of details of multipurpose employees working in villages. For years, agencies have been the dominant force in the distribution of salaries to contract and outsourcing staff. It has been revealed that since the government has been depositing funds directly into the accounts of agencies, they are making huge cuts in the salaries paid to employees. It has also been revealed that salaries are being taken in the names of non-existent employees. Although funds have been released from the government for benefits like PF and ESI, it has also come to light that many agencies are diverting them instead of depositing them in the accounts of employees. However, in some departments, the government has found that benami is being created in the names of non-existent employees and salaries are being drawn illegally. To curb this rampant exploitation, the government will introduce a direct salary transfer system. This will prevent misuse of government funds and allow lower-level staff to receive full salaries.
Workers have been facing a situation where they have to wait for months for their salaries due to delays by agencies. From now on, all employees will be freed from this if they make payments through the IFMS portal or a special portal. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to receive their salaries regularly every month. Since salaries are paid directly, not only will they receive cash, but there will also be a guarantee for the social security of the employees. While till now they had to depend on the kindness of the agencies, now the government will directly monitor it, so the PF and ESI shares due to each employee will also be deposited properly, officials say. This will prevent them from facing any problems in getting accident insurance or other health benefits in the future.
From now on, the government is collecting and computerizing the complete information of every employee department-wise. Name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank account details are being collected. Earlier, it was not known which employee was working where and how much salary they were getting. Now, with the preparation of a robust digital database, it is possible to know the details of any employee in any corner of the state with a single click. With Aadhaar linking, it will be possible to check frauds such as the same person working in two different places and getting salaries or diverting funds to two accounts in the same name.
