One injured in Police firing in Hyderabad
Police firing | Hyderabad, July 12: Police in Hyderabad fired warning shots early Friday morning to apprehend two armed robbery suspects at Nampally railway station. One suspect sustained a leg injury during the incident.
Officers from an undercover police unit stopped the two men for suspicious activity near midnight on Thursday. According to police reports, when confronted, one suspect lunged at officers with an axe, while the other threw rocks. A struggle ensued between the suspects and the police team.
“In self-defense, one of our constables discharged their firearm, injuring one of the offenders,” a police official stated. “The suspects then surrendered and are currently in custody. The injured suspect is receiving treatment at Osmania General Hospital.”

This marks the second incident this week where Hyderabad police have used gunfire to apprehend criminals. Earlier this week, Nalgonda police arrested four members of a Pardhi gang in Uppal following a similar operation.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway, the police said.
