One More Leopard Captured On The Tirumala Walkway

Tirumala: Another leopard has been captured on the Tirumala walkway, marking the fifth consecutive leopard capture in the region. This capture took place near the Narasimha Swamy Temple, the site of a previous tragic incident involving Lakshita.

The leopard was trapped using cages that had been strategically placed along the Alipiri footpath, as part of ongoing efforts to manage the leopard population in the area.

The presence of this particular leopard was initially detected on a trap camera just four days ago. In response, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) officials and forest personnel promptly installed a cage in the vicinity, successfully capturing the leopard during the night.

Officials have confirmed that Operation Chirutha, aimed at mitigating human-leopard conflicts in the area, continues along the Alipiri walkway. Furthermore, forest officials have identified the captured leopard as a male, raising concerns about the presence of multiple leopards in the vicinity.
