Osman Sagar Two Gates lifted
Hyderabad, Sept. 27: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) lifted two more gates at Osman Sagar here on Monday.
Due to abundant inflow, the Hyderabad Water Board officials decided to open the gates and drain the excess water into the Musi river.
On Monday, So far, four gates of the reservoir, which is receiving abundant inflow from upstream areas, have been thrown open by HMWS&SB officials and the water level at the reservoir was recorded at 1,789.90 feet against the FTL of 1,790 feet. The reservoir capacity is 3.90 TMC and the water level is at 3.87 TMC and the water body is receiving 350 cu secs of inflow.
Meanwhile, Himayat Sagar is receiving 300 cu secs of inflow and water is being drained into Musi River through the gate that was lifted recently. The water levels at this reservoir were recorded at 1,763.25 feet against the FTL of 1,763.50 feet. The reservoir capacity is 2.97 TMC and on Wednesday the water level was 2.87 TMC.

It is to mention here that the HMWS&SB has lifted two gates of Osman Sagar late on Thursday. The reservoir is receiving 350 cusecs of inflow from upstream areas and the gates were opened to release excess water into the Musi River. On Friday, the water level at the reservoir was recorded at 1,789.85 feet against the FTLof 1,790 feet. The reservoir capacity is 3.90 TMC and the water level was 3.86TMC. Meanwhile, HimayatSagar is receiving 400 cusecs of inflow and water is being released into Musi River through the gate that was lifted recently.
