Over 76,842 Ration Cards Out

Hyderabad, June 23 (Maxim News) Since the change of government in Telangana, the exercise of removing ration cards has been going on. The government is ready to remove the ration cards of many people on the pretext that there are ineligible beneficiaries. As part of this, it seems that a field investigation has been completed on suspicious ration cards.

The authorities are collecting the details of those who have not taken ration for the last 6 months. According to their observation, 9it has been concluded that 76,842 beneficiaries are ineligible. The Civil Supplies Department has sent their details to the district collectors district-wise.

It seems that those who are found ineligible among the ration card holders will be removed from the list of beneficiaries within a few days. Sources in the Civil Supplies Department have clarified that the ration quota will be stopped for those found ineligible. Although free rice is being provided to the beneficiaries on the ration cards, many are not taking it. There are many people who are not taking ration. However, the Center has identified those who have not taken ration for at least the last 6 months as suspicious ration beneficiaries. It is learnt that their details have been sent to the state government. The Civil Supplies Department divided the details received by the state into districts and sent those details to the respective district collectors. The revenue machinery conducted an inquiry on them at the mandal level across the state. In this, the eligible and ineligible were identified. The details were sent to the Civil Supplies Department, and it was decided to remove the ineligible ones from the ration list.

A total of 1,62,773 people were identified as beneficiaries. Of these, 96,240 cards were found to be suspicious cards. of these, 76,842 were found ineligible. The Center has determined that 60 percent of the suspicious beneficiaries are ineligible. It was found that many of those identified as ineligible had migrated to other areas, died, and had names on ration cards in two places. It has been decided to remove the names of all of them soon. Most of those ineligible in the list are from Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda, and Medchal districts. (Maxim News)
