Hyderabad, August 26: The Telangana Legislative Assembly Ethics Committee will meet on August 29 to examine the alleged misconduct and inappropriate remarks made by BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy against Kadiyam Srihari.
The committee will meet at 11 am in the committee hall of the Assembly building. The meeting follows a reference from Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar concerning Kaushik Reddy’s conduct during the previous Assembly budget session.
The ruling party had raised strong objections to the remarks and conduct attributed to Kaushik Reddy against Kadiyam Srihari. Subsequently, the Speaker referred the matter to the Ethics Committee for a detailed examination.
Ethics Committee to Examine Kaushik Reddy Conduct
Assembly Secretary Rendla Tirupathi issued an official letter regarding the August 29 meeting. The committee chairperson and members are expected to attend the hearing and examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The panel will assess the conduct and remarks attributed to Kaushik Reddy. It will also consider the next course of action under the Assembly’s rules and ethical standards.
Furthermore, the committee is expected to prepare a report based on its examination. The report may also include recommendations on any further action against the MLA.
The development has attracted attention in Telangana political circles. The committee’s proceedings could determine whether the issue leads to any disciplinary recommendation against Kaushik Reddy.
However, the final decision will depend on the Ethics Committee’s examination and recommendations. No decision has been announced yet on the nature of any possible action.
The August 29 meeting will therefore be closely watched as the panel begins its formal examination of the matter involving Kaushik Reddy and Kadiyam Srihari.
