Hyderabad, Sept. 8: Congress MLA Padmavati Uttam Kumar Reddy said MLAs must behave responsibly in public places.
She criticised BRS MLAs over an incident at the Telangana Assembly on Monday. She alleged that some BRS leaders removed their shirts in front of a woman constable.
Padmavati said she submitted a complaint to the Telangana State Commission for Women. She said the complaint included evidence related to the incident.
Padmavati Seeks Action Over Assembly Incident
She said such behaviour was unacceptable and violated the dignity of women. She strongly condemned the alleged conduct of the BRS MLAs.
Padmavati urged the government to take legal action against those responsible. She also rejected what she called false propaganda against the police.
According to Padmavati, police personnel tried to protect women leaders during the incident. She appealed to the Women’s Commission to prioritise the dignity and safety of women.
“Look at the woman constable standing with her head down. How cruel,” Padmavati said while criticising the alleged behaviour.
