Hyderabad, June 8 (Maxim News): Pahadishareef Police under the Hyderabad Commissionerate arrested a house burglary offender within two days of registering the case. Police also recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth nearly ₹26 lakh.
The case was registered as Crime No. 349/2026 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Pahadishareef Police Station limits in the RGIA Division.
The accused has been identified as Akumalla Baba Peer alias Baba, aged 20 years, an AC mechanic from Raviryala Village in Maheshwaram Mandal, Ranga Reddy district.
Theft reported after family returns home
The complainant, Sri Nenavath Mallikarjun, reported the incident on June 5, 2026.
He stated that his family left for their native village on June 2, 2026. When they returned on June 4, 2026, they found the house locked but broken into.
On inspection, they noticed that the almirah lock was broken and valuables were missing.
The stolen property included gold chains, bangles, rings, earrings, a gold biscuit, and silver ornaments. The total loss was estimated at around ₹26 lakh.
Accused broke into house through ventilation
Police investigation revealed that the accused targeted locked houses in residential colonies during night hours.
He entered the house by removing ventilation glass panes. He then broke open almirah locks using a screwdriver.
After committing the theft, he escaped with gold and silver ornaments. He later sold the stolen property to unknown persons in Hyderabad and used the money for personal needs.
Police also recovered one screwdriver used in the offence along with stolen property.
Swift investigation leads to arrest and recovery
Pahadishareef Police acted quickly after registering the case. They used technical evidence, CCTV analysis, and local intelligence.
Police teams tracked the accused within a short time. On June 7, 2026, they arrested him and recovered 166 grams of gold ornaments and 257 grams of silver articles.
Officials said the quick arrest was possible due to coordinated efforts of the investigation team under RGIA Division supervision.
Accused produced before court
Police said the accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court and sent to judicial custody.
Senior officers appreciated the quick response and professional investigation by the Pahadishareef Police team. They also announced suitable rewards for the officers involved.
Police issue public advisory
Police advised residents to secure their houses properly before leaving town. They also suggested installing CCTV cameras and informing local police during long absences.
They further urged citizens to report suspicious movements immediately to prevent such crimes. (Maxim News)
