  • President says Pakistan, China conducting secret nuclear trials

Speaking in an interview with CBS, Trump defended the decision to restart nuclear testing, stating that several countries have been covertly expanding their nuclear capabilities.

Trump said, “Countries like Russia, China, Pakistan, North Korea are conducting nuclear tests. But they don’t talk about them. We don’t. We do something different from them, openly.” His remarks came days after Washington confirmed the resumption of nuclear weapons testing, a move that has drawn global attention and debate.

The President explained that while he had earlier chosen not to conduct such tests due to the immense destructive potential of nuclear weapons, the changing global situation has forced a policy reconsideration. According to him, the growing nuclear aggressiveness of nations like Russia and China has created an urgent need for the United States to maintain strategic parity.

He noted that countries like Russia and China were rapidly scaling up their nuclear arsenals, which could soon match that of the United States. Trump stated that he believed the nuclear arms race was entering a new phase and suggested that the US, Russia, and China could reach comparable capabilities within five years. Therefore, he argued, resuming nuclear weapons testing had become necessary to protect national security interests.

Meanwhile, the assertion that Pakistan is secretly testing nuclear weapons has drawn attention across international platforms, as such a claim, if true, could heighten geopolitical tensions in South Asia. However, no official response from Islamabad or Beijing had been reported at the time of this statement (Maxim News)
