Wanaparthy/Hyderabad, Sept 26 (Maxim News): A theft at the famous Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple complex in Srirangapuram, Wanaparthy district, has caused concern after unidentified persons allegedly stole panchaloha idols from the Ram temple on the premises.
Temple sources said the missing idols include those of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Anjaneyaswamy. The idols are believed to be made of panchaloha, a traditional five-metal alloy used for religious idols.
Police Launch Investigation Into Temple Idol Theft
The theft came to light after temple authorities reported the missing idols to the police. Following the complaint, the district Superintendent of Police visited the temple and inspected the scene.
Police are investigating how the unidentified persons allegedly entered the temple and carried out the theft. Officers are also examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and gathering information from temple authorities.
The police have not yet disclosed further details about the suspects or the value of the stolen idols. A detailed investigation is underway to trace the missing idols and identify those responsible.
