Scores of commuters of the Sealdah bound Rajdhani Express staged a protest demonstration at the platform of Asansol railway station this morning when some passengers fell ill after allegedly consuming stale food served in the train.
Half a dozen passengers had allegedly fallen sick last night after consuming the stale food served to them in the train, police and Eastern Railway sources here said.
Eastern Railway’s CPRO Rabi Mahapatro assured that the matter was being investigated and if the food served to the people was found to be stale then stern action would be initiated against the concerned contractor of the food supply agency.
