Speaking on the occasion, he said that spread of coronavirus was completely brought under control in the district with no new positive case reported in the last 14 days. Out of the total of 83 corona patients in the district, 56 patients were discharged from the hospital after getting cured. He exuded confidence that the remaining 27 patients would also recover soon. Though restrictions were strictly imposed in Suryapet in the beginning of lockdown, unfortunately, vegetable shops, Kirana shops and medical shops, which are exempted, have become causes for the spread of the virus.
Stating that the people should take precautionary measures even after completion of lockdown, he suggested that they continue to maintain social distancing, avoiding shake hands and wearing masks without fail.
Suryapet Municipal Chairperson O Annapurnamma and several ward members have also attended the programme.
