PIL In High Court Against Dalit Bandhu

Hyderabad, Aug 30 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court on Wednesday (August 30) took up a hearing on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against the involvement of MLAs and officials in the Dalit Bandhu scheme and their recommendations.

It has been explained in the PIL that it is against the constitution to select Dalit eligibility on the recommendation of the MLAs and officials. The counsel for the petitioner told the High Court that Dalit candidates are being selected during the upcoming elections.

The petitioner’s counsel brought to the notice of the Court that the scheme is being applied only to the followers of the MLAs in the Dalit Bandhu lists and the others are not being cared for. He said that there is no transparency in the selection of beneficiaries. After hearing the arguments, the High Court issued notices to the state government. The case was adjourned for two weeks.
