PM Modi | Pune, Nov. 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the third line of the Pune Metro and laid the foundation stone for four new corridors under its second phase in Maharashtra. The projects are part of a major infrastructure development programme with a combined investment of around Rs. 21,800 crore.
Modi virtually inaugurated the nearly 23-km-long Pune Metro Pink Line, which connects Mann to the District Court Metro station through Hinjewadi, the city’s major IT hub, and Shivajinagar. The corridor was developed at a cost of more than Rs. 8,300 crore.
The new line is expected to benefit IT employees, students and daily commuters by improving connectivity and reducing dependence on road transport. Officials expect the project to ease traffic congestion, reduce vehicular pollution and lower pressure on existing roads.

The expansion will connect several important areas through the following routes:
- Vanaz to Chandni Chowk
- Ramwadi to Vittalwadi
- Kharadi to Khadakwasla
- Nalstop to Manikbagh
The new corridors are expected to extend metro connectivity to Kharadi, Magarpatta, Hadapsar, Swargate, Warje and Pune Cantonment.
