The Skyroot team invited Modi to meet them in person, while the Prime Minister said the successful mission had demonstrated India’s growing capabilities in private space technology.

Modi also referred to the ‘Vande Mataram’ postcard carried aboard Vikram 1, saying it was a matter of pride that the message had reached space along with handwritten messages from scientists, engineers and well wishers.

The Vikram 1 rocket lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 12.05 pm on Saturday under Mission Aagaman. Although the launch was delayed by 35 minutes, the four stage rocket successfully completed its mission and placed multiple technology demonstration payloads into orbit.
