PM Modi: Trade Deal With US Is The Biggest Deal Of This Century
Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 3 (Maxim News): It is known that the US-India trade deal has been agreed upon. With this, the tariffs on goods exported from India to the US have been reduced to 18 percent. In this regard, our country seems to have gained the upper hand over its South Asian neighbors. While the tariffs on Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are 20 percent, there are 19 percent tariffs on Pakistan and up to 34 percent tariffs on China. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently made key comments on the trade agreement between India and the US.
Prime Minister Modi has described the trade deal between India and the US as the ‘biggest deal of this century’. He said it will further enhance India’s growing importance internationally. Prime Minister Modi attended the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he revealed that due to the trade deal between India and the US, the mutual tariffs between the two countries have been reduced from the current 25 percent to 18 percent.
He told the NDA MPs that India’s role in maintaining balance in global affairs will increase further. Prime Minister Modi made a humorous comment targeting the opposition parties that some people were deeply disappointed with US President Donald Trump’s decision. Prime Minister Modi revealed that this agreement will be very helpful for the growth of the Indian economy and increase in exports. On the other hand, the NDA MPs felicitated Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this meeting.
