Police Martyrs noble sacrifices are immortal: Mahesh M Bhagwat

Hyderabad, Oct.21 (NSS): Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat today inaugurated Police martyrs memorial and paid rich floral tributes to the Police Martyrs during the Police Flag Day celebrations held at CAR Headquarters in Amberpet.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhagwat stated that thousands of Police had lost their lives in line of duty across the country and reminded everyone that the Police Commemoration Day had been observed across the country in memory of Ten CRPF Soldiers, who sacrificed their lives in an Ambush attack by Chinese troops on October 21, 1959 at Hot Springs in Ladakh. The CP reminded everyone that the Police Commemoration day was being observed as Police Flag Day from the year 2020. He said that thousands of the Police men dedicated their lives to keep the country peaceful and added that 264 Police personnel had sacrificed their lives on duty in the present year till August 31st in the country while noting that 16 Police men from the Rachakonda Commissionerate had lost their lives while on duty.

The CP has mentioned that numerous safety measures had been taken up for the welfare of Rachakonda Police that includes special medical camps, free Covid vaccination to Police personnel and their family members and family health checkup camps and reminded everyone that the blood donation camps conducted by Rachakonda Police Commissionerate had achieved the Highest Blood Donations Award-2022 from the Governor of the state on world blood donors day.

The CP mentioned that Rachakonda Police Commissionerate had taken up several initiatives to help the citizens during the pandemic like dedicated Covid control room, free ambulances, free isolation centre, medical oxygen, free food to the needy and expressed his happiness over the increase in the percentage of perception towards police from 37 to 72 percent with the tireless humanitarian services rendered during the 1st and 2nd phases of pandemic.

The CP thanked the state government for supporting the Police department and cited that the state government was offering special allowances to the police working in special wings like traffic, intelligence, training, octopus.

He further stated that various activities including Blood donation camps, Essay writing competition, online Open house, Photography and Short film competition etc would be organized during the observance of Police Flag Day from October 21st to October 31st 2022 across the Rachakonda Commissionerate. The CP welcomed the students and other civilians to actively participate in the events.
