President Murmu to Visit Odisha on July 14-15
Bhubaneswar/Cuttack, July 13 (Maxim News): President of India Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha for a two-day official tour from July 14 to 15, 2025. During her visit, she will attend key academic and cultural events in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, highlighting the importance of education, women empowerment, and Odia heritage.
Day 1: AIIMS Bhubaneswar Convocation
On July 14, the President will be the Chief Guest at the fifth convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar. The event will mark a significant milestone for the premier medical institution, celebrating the achievements of young medical graduates and postgraduates.
Day 2: Ravenshaw University and Cultural Celebrations in Cuttack
On July 15, President Murmu will head to Cuttack, where she will:
- Attend the 13th Annual Convocation of Ravenshaw University, a historic institution that has contributed immensely to Odisha’s academic and cultural fabric.
- Lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three heritage buildings of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, reinforcing her commitment to women’s education and infrastructure development.
- Participate in the birth anniversary celebration of Adikabi Sarala Das, regarded as the first poet of the Odia language.
- Present the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award 2024, an honor given to individuals for exceptional contributions in the fields of literature, education, and public service.
