Prohibition Of Strikes In Genco Extended Fore More Six Months
Hyderabad: The State government on Friday extended the prohibition of strikes in all the services of Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd for a period of six months with effect from July 27, 2020.
The decision was taken in the public interest because Genco is an essential service under the provisions of the Telangana Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971. The earlier prohibition order which was in effect from January 27, 2020 came to an end on July 27.
The government, after carefully considering the request of the Chairman and managing Director of the TS Genco seeking extension of prohibition of strikes for six more months, issued the orders.
“In the circumstances reported by the CMD of TS Genco and after careful consideration, the government is satisfied that it is necessary and expedient to prohibit strikes in public interest in any service of TS Genco for a further period of six months,” Ajay Mishra, Special Chief Secretary to government said in his order.
