Hyderabad, Dec 9 (Maxim News): The Tank Bund is a tourist point existing in the heart of Hyderabad city which has 10 KM road around the lake water. To maintain peace & tranquillity a Lake Police Station/Outpost was established in the year 2013.
The Lake Police Station staff are posted regularly on patrolling to curb the illegal activities around Husdsain Sagar. Many people come to commit suicide by jumping into Hussain Sagar lake water due to their personal problems. Surveillance is kept on the persons who are in distress mood and attempt to commit suicide.
LIVES SAVED :
During the year-2014 – 82 persons, 2015 – 207 persons and in 2016 (till now) – 209 persons were saved. Among them, 62 – Male, 114 – Female & 33 – Children.
SUICIDAL DEATHS :
As per the records, during the year 2014- 50 persons have committed suicide and in the last year i.e; 2015- 47 persons have committed suicide. During the current year so far 26 persons have committed suicide in Hussain Sagar Lake.
All the rescued people were properly counselled by the Lake Police officers, Psychologists in BHAROSA center and Psychologists of ROSHNI counselling center. Continuous follow up is also being done by Lake Police.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner has congratulated the ACP Saifabad, Inspector of Lake P.S, Ramgopalpet P.S and staff for saving 209 human lives.
