Rachakonda CP Launches ‘SHE FOR HER’ Program For Safety Of Women

Hyderabad, March.3 (Maxim News): ‘SHE FOR HER’ program for college girls to act as volunteers on women’s empowerment was conducted as a part of International Women’s Day celebrations. The program was organized by the Rachakonda Police and Security Council under “Hyderabad Safe City” project banner at Guru Nanak Institution, Ibrahimpatnam. Smitha Sabarwal, Special secretary to CM, was the chief guest.

‘SHE for HER’ program was conceived by Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS. The program was launched under the Rachakonda police limits to create a safer environment for girl students inside the colleges too. Public places have already been taken care by SHE Teams by their decoy operations and created a safer environment. The fundamental of this concept is two senior girl students can be selected from each college and they will undergo orientation training and empowered with awareness of Laws and Acts to curb Crime against Women. They will be nominated as “SHE FOR HER” for the college, so that any girl from the college can approach police through this SHE FOR HER student, who will act as a bridge between the police and students. They can help other students with the information of how they can reach police. SHE for HER volunteers are supporting SHE TEAMS for the women safety and actively responding to problems as she for her and taking help from Rachakonda Police through dedicated whatsapp groups.

Mahesh Bhagwat addressed the volunteers about their responsibilities and explained about women Laws and appealed to them that if any crime against women if they noticed then they can take the help SHE Teams Rachakonda on Whatsapp no 9490617111 or dial 100 which is available 24×7. He also said that in Rachakonda area, some 1,10,000 cameras were installed and being monitored by police to ensure women safety.

Smitha Sabarwal exhorted the students to aim for high goals and reach them with hard work. Women should always be cautious about surroundings and if any problem arises, they should immediately call dial 100,’ she said. *MANCH* a cultural team of volunteers from the Infosys performed a street play about women safety and how to react while in critical situations.

LB Nagar DCP Yadagiri, Sneha Misra, IPS-trainee, Saleema, Add. DCP, ACP Yadagiri Reddy, Gagan Kohli and Saini from Gurunanak Institutions, Savitri Mutyala, Margadarshak of Rachakonda Security Council, seven She Teams and some 500 SHE for HER volunteers were present. (Maxim News)
