Delhi/Internet/Hyderabad, Aug 16 (Maxim News): The assets dispute involving senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has now reached the Supreme Court. Rahul Gandhi has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court’s order to the CBI to investigate allegations of assets beyond his means (Rahul Gandhi assets case).
BJP activist Vignesh has filed a petition alleging that Rahul Gandhi has assets beyond his means of income. The Allahabad High Court has ordered an inquiry by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate into these allegations. The CBI has expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of the investigation. It has ordered a fresh affidavit to be filed on the progress of the investigation. It has also made it clear that the ED can also take appropriate legal action. Rahul Gandhi approached the Supreme Court against the orders given by the High Court on July 20.
Rahul Gandhi has also filed another petition in the Supreme Court. He has also sought transfer of the matter, which is currently pending in the Allahabad High Court, to the Delhi High Court. The Supreme Court is likely to hear these petitions filed by Rahul Gandhi on August 17. A bench comprising Chief Justice Suryakant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana will hear the matter.
