Heavy Rains Lash Hyderabad, CM Puts Departments on High Alert
Rain: Hyderabad: With heavy rains lashing Hyderabad and several parts of Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed all departmental officials and staff to remain on high alert.
He instructed authorities to evacuate residents living in old, dilapidated houses and shift them to safer locations.
The CM Revanth Reddy also ordered Transco staff to take precautionary measures near Ganesh pandals, ensuring that electric poles and transformers do not pose any risk to devotees.

In Hyderabad, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), GHMC, SDRF, Fire Department, and Police have been asked to coordinate closely to prevent any inconvenience.
The Chief Minister further instructed that movement of traffic must be stopped on low-lying causeways and culverts where water flow is heavy. The Irrigation Department was told to take preventive measures as tanks and ponds face the risk of breaches.
The CM also cautioned about the risk of waterborne diseases. He directed municipal, urban local bodies, and gram panchayat sanitation teams to stay alert, clear stagnant water, and maintain strict hygiene measures.
The Health Department has been asked to ensure an adequate stock of medicines in hospitals and set up medical camps wherever necessary.
