Rains Will Be Abundant: Prophecy by Swarnalatha at Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Festival
Hyderabad, July 14 (Maxim News): In a spiritually charged moment at the Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Festival in Secunderabad, the traditional Rangam ceremony was held with great fervour. As part of this sacred ritual, Matangi Swarnalatha delivered a prophecy that left thousands of devotees both awestruck and hopeful.
Swarnalatha declared that abundant rainfall would bless the land this year, bringing prosperity to agriculture, especially dairy crops. She reassured the people that the divine force would take responsibility for the protection of both the state and the nation.
Prophecy Highlights
Speaking in a trance, Swarnalatha shared warnings and promises, saying,
“A pandemic may strike again, and fire-related mishaps could occur. Be cautious and stay alert.”
Despite the cautions, she offered comfort, telling devotees that the goddess watches over everyone equally.
“I performed this year’s puja with great joy and will treat all of you with the same happiness. I will remove the thorn in your soul with my tongue,” she said symbolically, evoking deep spiritual emotion among the devotees gathered.
She added:
“You may abandon your children, but I hold them in my womb and protect them. Everyone will face what they are destined to, but I will not interfere unless needed.”
Significance of Rangam
The Rangam is one of the most anticipated events during Bonalu, where a woman—believed to be possessed by the Goddess Mahankali—delivers divine predictions. It is both a cultural and spiritual centrepiece of the Lashkar Bonalu celebrations.
Crowd and Festive Atmosphere
Thousands thronged the Ujjaini Mahankali Temple from early morning, with long queues and vibrant processions seen across General Bazar and Monda Market. Traditional performances by Pothurajus, devotional drum beats, and decorated offerings marked the spirit of devotion and celebration.
