Despite the cautions, she offered comfort, telling devotees that the goddess watches over everyone equally.

I performed this year’s puja with great joy and will treat all of you with the same happiness. I will remove the thorn in your soul with my tongue,” she said symbolically, evoking deep spiritual emotion among the devotees gathered.

She added:

You may abandon your children, but I hold them in my womb and protect them. Everyone will face what they are destined to, but I will not interfere unless needed.”

Significance of Rangam

The Rangam is one of the most anticipated events during Bonalu, where a woman—believed to be possessed by the Goddess Mahankali—delivers divine predictions. It is both a cultural and spiritual centrepiece of the Lashkar Bonalu celebrations.

Crowd and Festive Atmosphere

Thousands thronged the Ujjaini Mahankali Temple from early morning, with long queues and vibrant processions seen across General Bazar and Monda Market. Traditional performances by Pothurajus, devotional drum beats, and decorated offerings marked the spirit of devotion and celebration.
