Ramappa Temple to get Heritage status soon: Srinivas Goud
Hyderabad, July 22 (Maxim News): Tourism and Culture Minister V Srinivas Goud today stated that historic Ramappa Temple in Warangal is to get Heritage status soon. Telangana region is known for its rich traditions of historic structures, forts, monuments, waterfall areas Before Christ, he said.
Talking to press persons here he informed that the government of Telangana is trying to get due recognition to its monuments, historic forts, structures and places.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is determined to protect our culture and traditions and provide huge funds, he said. He cited that Yadadri temple is being redeveloped on the lines of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) by spending huge funds. The Yadadri Temple of Lord Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy is getting ready for public visit soon and KCR will launch it, he said.
This can be attributed to the determination of our chief minister to protect our traditions and culture, he claimed.
The Minister said that the successive governments did not try to get heritage status to several structures, forts and places of historic importance. UNESCO has advised the government to take up necessary action to protect these structures of Ramappa temple. As a result we took three key decisions in this regard, the minister said. Getting UNESCO recognition for heritage status is in the final stage and we are completing the process and taking all measures, he informed. The UNESCO committee has asked the state government to take up measures to protect the Ramappa Temple, he said. We will conduct a meeting on July 25 to further proceed in this regard, he clarified. In that international conference we will get a green signal from members of the world heritage structures committee, the Tourism Minister said.
So we took necessary steps by forming a state level committee and a special development authority, the minister said. We began steps to include temples nearby under Ramappa temple assets and developing them, he said.
The government is giving importance to culture and traditions by developing the temples with adequate funds, the ministers claimed. (Maxim News)
