Hyderabad, May 18: Ramchander Rao on Monday defended Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and accused opposition parties of running a misinformation campaign against the BJP and the minister’s family.
Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Ramchandra Rao alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi was deliberately targeting Bandi Sanjay through posters and political propaganda across the state.
He stated that Bandi Sanjay had “done nothing wrong” and added that legal action should be taken if any family member is found guilty under the law.
BJP attacks BRS over allegations
Ramchandra Rao also accused BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao of spreading false allegations for political purposes.
During the press interaction, the BJP leader criticised the previous BRS government over crimes against women and referred to several past controversies involving the party. He questioned whether BRS leaders had resigned in earlier cases involving allegations against party members.
Ramchandra Rao further alleged that the Congress and BRS were indirectly helping each other politically. He also demanded action in the alleged Kaleshwaram and e-car race cases.
The remarks come amid the ongoing political controversy surrounding the POCSO case involving Sai Bhageerath, which has triggered sharp exchanges between BJP, Congress, and BRS leaders in Telangana.
