Adilabad/Hyderabad, Sept 24 (Maxim News): Due to the war in West Asia, the central government has imposed restrictions on refill bookings of LPG gas cylinders since March this year. This has led to people in towns and villages using gas economically. After booking a cylinder, it used to take 35 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas to get it again. Now, with the improvement in gas supply, the restrictions have been relaxed.
The facility to book cylinders has been provided for 25 days. Consumers are expressing joy over this. With the facility to book cylinders for 25 days, the congestion at gas warehouses has reduced significantly. When there were restrictions on booking for 45 days, consumers used to queue at warehouses for cylinder refills. Now that the previous conditions have been restored, consumers are breathing a sigh of relief.
For new connections..
People are facing serious problems due to the suspension of new gas connections. The central government is unofficially implementing a ban on the issuance of new gas connections. Agencies have not been issuing new connections since last March. As a result, those who do not have gas connections yet, newly married couples, those who have settled separately, and those who have come from other areas for livelihood are waiting for new gas connections. The central government has stopped granting new gas connections due to poor fuel imports.
It seems that the central government has taken this decision as it felt that granting new connections in the current situation would further increase the crisis. There are 1,41,212 household connections in the 12 gas agencies in the district. 52 thousand cylinders are being supplied every month. 17 thousand are being supplied in the agencies in Kagaznagar, 8 thousand in Asifabad, and 6 thousand in Kautala.
