The Republic Day Parade held in the national capital on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day showcased India’s military strength and preparedness. The parade presented a detailed display of modern weapon systems and formations. It highlighted the capabilities of the armed forces and drew strong attention from guests and viewers across the country.
The armed forces displayed various weapon systems used in Operation Sindoor during the Republic Day Parade. This display became one of the key highlights of the celebrations. Another major attraction was the Battle Array Formation, which featured for the first time. The parade followed a pattern that resembled troop deployment on a battlefield. This presentation impressed guests and added a new dimension to the annual event.
A total of 6,050 soldiers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force participated in the Republic Day Parade. The weapons display under the Operation Sindoor theme made the Indian military stand out during the event. Four Mi 17 helicopters showered flowers over the parade route. This moment added to the grandeur of the celebrations and drew applause from the audience.
Several advanced weapon systems featured prominently during the Republic Day Parade. The Akash weapon system, linked with Operation Sindoor, attracted attention. The display of the Brahmos missile and the Suryastra rocket launcher, which can hit targets up to 300 km away, impressed the guests. The Arjun battle tank also emerged as a special attraction and highlighted India’s armored strength.
The S 400 anti missile system, considered crucial for national defence, was also displayed during the parade. Meanwhile, aerial maneuvers by Apache and Prachanda helicopters, along with various fighter jets, added excitement to the event. The drone display further impressed the audience. The newly formed Bhairav Light Commando Battalion also featured as a major attraction, reflecting recent developments in force structure.
Along with the military display, parades and art performances by states and union territories showcased the cultural diversity of the country. Also, 30 parades from central government departments enhanced the country’s prestige. Around 10,000 guests from different parts of the country witnessed the Republic Day Parade live during the celebrations.
