Hyderabad, April 17 (Maxim News): A 62-year-old retired government school principal died in a tragic fire accident at her residence in Begumpet on Thursday.
According to police, the incident occurred when the victim identified as Vijayalakshmi was lighting a lamp during her daily prayers. During which, her saree accidentally caught fire, and in a state of panic, she ran into the bedroom. The flames quickly then reportedly spread to a blanket, intensifying the fire.
She suffered severe burn injuries and died on the spot. Locals noticed smoke coming from the house and then alerted the police.
Vijayalakshmi had been living alone after retirement, while her daughter resides on the second floor of the same building. In her complaint, the daughter stated that her mother performed daily puja rituals.
She raised no doubts behind her death.
