New Delhi, June 22: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and discussed a range of development and infrastructure-related proposals concerning Telangana.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister thanked the Union Defence Minister for support related to the transfer of Defence Department land for the Gandhi Sarovar project.
The discussion also focused on the proposed development of Adilabad Airport, which the Telangana government considers a priority project. Revanth Reddy assured cooperation from the state government in matters related to land acquisition and shifting of utilities required for the project.
The Chief Minister conveyed that the state would extend support for the proposed expansion involving aviation infrastructure in Adilabad, including facilities connected to civil and defence requirements.
According to the discussion details, Telangana sought cooperation for creating additional infrastructure such as:
- Cargo facilities
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) services
- Aircraft hangar facilities
- Passenger terminal infrastructure
The proposal also included coordination between civil aviation requirements and Indian Air Force-related infrastructure.
The Chief Minister also requested support for a project associated with defence research institutions near Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar district.
The meeting reportedly included discussions on long-term infrastructure planning and possible opportunities connected to aviation and industrial growth in Telangana.
The proposals discussed remain subject to approvals and implementation processes by the concerned authorities.
