The accused have been identified as Mohd Husain Younus alias Younus Rider, 26, and his associate Mohd Asghar Biyabani alias Ajju, 25. Police confirmed that Younus is a known offender with an active rowdy sheet maintained against him at the Falaknuma police station. According to the police, Younus, along with Asghar and another accomplice, Liyaqath, kidnapped two youngsters, Sharooq and his friend Raheem, after a confrontation turned violent.

ACP Falaknuma M.A. Jaweed stated that the incident began when one Mannan, elder brother of Sharooq, approached Younus and requested him to advise his brother to start working instead of wasting time. Acting on the request, Younus called Sharooq to meet him in Falaknuma. However, when Sharooq came along with his friend Raheem, the meeting took a violent turn. “During the discussion, Younus, Asghar and another person, Liyaqath, assaulted Sharooq, which prompted his friend Raheem to object,” the ACP said.

Enraged by Raheem’s interference, Younus and his associates forcibly took the two friends to a house in Kalapather, where they confined and beat them. The victims were also threatened with a knife before being released. The ordeal prompted them to approach the police, following which a case was registered under kidnapping and assault charges.

Police have since apprehended Younus and Asghar, while Liyaqath remains absconding. Officials said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the third suspect. The accused are currently under judicial custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
