According to the ACB, Prabhu Lal was working as a line inspector at the office of the Assistant Engineer (Operations) in Pedda Amberpet. The case emerged after a complainant approached the agency, alleging that the officer demanded money to process the issue of service numbers for a newly installed 63 KV transformer and power meters. The equipment had been set up at an apartment complex belonging to a private college.

Officials confirmed that the college in question was Sreyas Institute of Engineering and Technology, located in Tattianaram village of Rangareddy district. The complainant stated that the officer refused to carry out his duty until the bribe was paid. Acting on the complaint, the ACB verified the accusations and apprehended the officer during a follow-up operation.

A formal case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway to determine the extent of his involvement in corrupt practices. The ACB is also examining whether other officials in the department were complicit or benefited from similar monetary demands.

The Telangana ACB urged people to remain vigilant and report any instances of bribery or corruption by public servants. Complaints can be filed via the toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp at 9440446106, the official Facebook page (Telangana ACB), or through the agency’s official website. Authorities emphasized that cooperation from citizens plays a critical role in curbing corruption across government departments.
