Huzurnagar/Hyderabad, June 1 (Maxim News): A major ATM robbery took place in Huzurnagar, Suryapet district. The assailants who vandalized the SBI ATM on Lingagiri Road in the two looted Rs. 20 lakhs. The incident took place at 2.30 am on Sunday (June 1), Unknown persons who came in a Fortuner car vandalized the ATM with a gas cutter. They took away the cash in it, set the ATM on fire and left. The scenes of the theft were recorded on CCTV cameras.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. The police are searching for the assailants based on the CCTV footage.
Huzurnagar CI Charamandaraju had previously warned that there are 4 SBI ATMs in Huzurnagar town, and as thefts are currently happening more frequently, they should be closed at night or a security guard should be appointed in addition to installing CCTV cameras in the ATM centers.
On the orders of the CI, SI Muthaiah held a meeting with the officials of all the banks operating ATMs on the 27th of last month, this is four days ago, and gave advance warnings and instructions. However, it is known that this incident took place due to lack of attention of the bank officials. (Maxim News)
