Hyderabad, March 14 (Maxim News): Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy said Legislative Assembly that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao offered Rs 24,500 cr for farm sector in the budget for development. The minister stated that paddy is sown in 30.10 lakh acres in the state.
The state government is committed for farmers, welfare and taking necessary measures he stated. Niranjan Reddy said that Rs 1000 cr was allotted for market intervention for providing minimum support price to farm produce. He claimed that Rythu Bandhu scheme has helped the farmers overcome loan problems. We cannot give it to tenant farmers.
Niti Ayog member Prof Ramesh Chand has appreciated rythu bandhu scheme aimed to tide over farmers woes, he said.

The KCR Government has been offering 24 hours power supply to farm sector, while in US there is no such scheme for farmers. The centre gave permission to procure one lakh metric tons of red gram after repeated appeals. He urged the centre to take initiative on farming insurance.(Maxim News)
