The investigation was intensified in that regard due to the university’s link with the Red Fort car blast incident that took place on November 10. He was remanded in ED custody for 13 days. There are allegations that the university collected huge amounts of money from students and parents by showing false accreditation and identity. It is learnt that 415 crores were collected in that form.

The ED said that he is being taken into custody in view of the possibility of his absconding. It said that Al Falah University has grown exponentially since 1990 and has now become a major educational institution. (Maxim News)
