Rs. 5 Lakh Health Insurance For Eldery In Telagana From April

Hyderabad, Mar 30 (Maxim News): Ayushman Bharat Vayo Vandana Scheme will be implemented in the state from April. Through this scheme, the central government will provide health insurance of upto Rs. 5 lakh to the elderly above 70 years of age.

The state medical and health authorities have recently issued instructions to the network hospitals regarding the implementation of this scheme. Regardless of financial constraints, the elderly in the family can get free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh based on the age in the Aadhaar card.

Treatment, surgeries, hospitality, and medicine expenses together will be covered upto Rs. 5 lakh free of cost. Those who are benefitting from the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) or other government health schemes are also eligible for Ayushman Vayo Vandana.

Those who have private health insurance can also benefit under this scheme. Many states in the country are already implementing the Ayushman Vayo Vandana scheme, it will be implemented in our state from April 1.

Age is the only criterion for this scheme. Senior citizens above 70 years of age are eligible to get Ayushman Bharat Vayo Vandana Card. To get these cards, one has to complete eKYC through beneficiary.nha.gov.in or through Ayushman Mobile App.

Otherwise, if the Aadhaar card details are provided to the health care staff of the network hospitals, they will register and issue the card. While only the economically weaker sections can get insurance coverage under PMJAY, anyone aged 70 years or above can benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Vayo Vandana Scheme.

Those with Ayushman Vayo Vandana cards can get free treatment in government hospitals and private hospitals that are empanelled. They can also get treatment for existing diseases.

Serious diseases like diabetes and hypertension can also be treated through this scheme. There are 416 private hospitals inthe state that are empanelled with the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Those with Vayo Vandana cards can get medical services in these hospitals.

There are 66 private hospitals in Hyderabad district alone, 49 in Ranga Reddy district and 47 in Medchal Malkajgiri district in the network. Senior citizens can also avail these services in 1017 government hospitals across the state. (Maxim News)
