Rs. 60 Crore From CMRF For Urgent Needs Of Minority, SC, ST And BC Welfare Hostels

Hyderabad, Oct 13 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has approved Rs. 60 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for urgent needs in Minorities, SC, ST and BC welfare hostels. The money may be used for diet charges, temporary staff salaries, motor repairs and other essential works.

The Chief Minister handed over cheques to senior officials and reviewed welfare hostels and educational institutions at ICCC on Monday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sought special focus on welfare hostels. He ordered facial recognition for students, teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure full data and accountability.

He directed officials to use an app to track food quality. He asked departments to ensure nutritious meals with the right calories for students.

He told senior officials to deliver uniforms and books on time and asked higher authorities to certify compliance. He also ordered regular dashboard uploads on facilities, amenities and maintenance in hostels.

The Chief Minister stressed student health. He asked each district to link government and private medical colleges, community health centres and area hospitals with hostels.

He directed medical camps at hostels and said doctors must be available during emergencies. He told district collectors and additional collectors to visit hostels often and improve services.

He also asked for a plan covering scholarships, salaries, diet charges, construction, other expenses, arrears and monthly operating costs for BC, SC, ST and Minority hostels.

He instructed officials to mobilize funds from centrally sponsored schemes and to release the state matching grant immediately. He sought a 24×7 hotline so doctors are reachable online. He urged the use of edtech for competitive exams.

He said departments should publicize services for hostel students on social media and curb false propaganda. He directed teams to build the required apps for medical services, edtech and inspections.

Before the review, Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh presented the current status of hostels.

Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Lakshman Kumar attended, along with CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, State Advisor Shabbir Ali, Principal Secretary V. Seshadri, OSD Vemula Srinivasulu and officials Jyothi Buddaprash, B. Shafiyulla, Anita Ramachandran, Kshitij, Nirmala Kranti Wesley and Krishna Aditya and others were present (Maxim News)
