RTC Crew Strike: State BJP MPs Meet Gadkari For Help
Hyderabad, Nov.21 (Maxim News): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy today said the Centre will take an initiative on the RTC strike issue in Telangana State.
Accompanied by BJP MPs D Arvind, B Sanjay and S Babu Rao, Kishan Reddy called on Union Surface Transport Minister Nithin Gadkari and sought his intervention on the RTC crisis. He apprised Gadkari of 47-day long RTC crew strike, which was called off on Wednesday. Later he informed the media at the Parliament House that Gadkari has shown interest to resolve the RTC crisis. He said Gadkari told them that he would talk to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on the issue. He also said Gadkari would call Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and officials to Delhi and discuss with them on the RTC strike and ensure that the RTC employees are back in their jobs.
Kishan Reddy also said the Centre has a share in the RTC and a right to intervene when the RTC issues are yet to be solved. He suggested to the State government to avoid steps of retaliation and take the employees back to duties sans conditions. The RTC management and the government should act immediately in this regard as the RTC JAC called off the strike. The RTC employees were facing several problems for two months due to denial of salaries, he deplored. (Maxim News)
