Hyderabad, Oct.26 (Maxim News): While the strike by the RTC Employees entered the 22nd day, the RTC Management today held talks with the trade union leaders of the TSRTC, but the JAC leaders said the talks have failed and ended abruptly.
Speaking to the media after the talks held at Erramanzil here, The JAC convenor Ashwathama Reddy said that while they requested for discussion on their 26 demands, including merger of RTC with Government, the RTC in-charge Managing Director said that they would have talks only on 21 demands, and there was no question of talks on merger issue. Merging of the TSRTC with the Government is the only demand which resulted in abrupt ending of talks, much before the meeting was slated to end.
Reddy said the strike will continue and they were ready to have discussions whenever the management calls them again. He said that the talks should be held on all the demands and the possibility or otherwise of each demand could be solved through talks. He alleged that the Management has distorted even the Court verdict, and they were pressurized to call off the strike before the talks started. They wanted that eight representatives be allowed for the talks, but the Management allowed only four for talks and the police prevented the other leaders from entering the venue. He also alleged that their cell phones were taken away before allowing them to enter the talks venue.
It may be recalled that following the High Court order, the Government had constituted a committee of EDs and the committee had submitted it’s report to the in-charge M D, Sunil Sharma yesterday. The report was handed over to the Transport Minister, following which the Minister held a meeting with the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Then the CM gave a green signal for talks with JAC leaders, which, however, ended abruptly today.(Maxim News)
