According to available information, these ships were moving through the South China Sea when they made a sudden U turn. They were initially scheduled to reach Chinese ports. However, they are now being redirected towards India. This shift comes at a time when oil supply from the Middle East has been disrupted due to the Iran war.

Meanwhile, one of the key vessels, Aqua Titan, began its journey from the Baltic Sea coast of Russia in late January. It was originally expected to reach the port of Rizhao in China. However, in mid March, while sailing through Southeast Asian waters, the ship changed its route.

This change is significant. It occurred just days after India received temporary relaxations from the United States on purchasing Russian oil. The vessel is now expected to arrive at the coast of Mangalore on March 21. Therefore, the timing of this diversion has raised several questions among observers.

Also, reports from Vartexa Limited confirm that not just one but at least seven tankers have altered their course. They have canceled their journey to China and are now heading towards India. This has added a new dimension to global oil trade discussions.
