Several IPS Officers Approach HC On Bhoodan Lands Issue
Hyderabad, April 29 (Maxim News): Several IPS officers have approached the High Court over the Bhoodan land issue. The court, which took up the matter on the 24th of this month, ordered that the lands belonging to 27 officers be placed on the prohibited list.
A single bench of Justice Bhaskar Reddy issued a verdict to this effect. Recently, some IPS officers have approached the High Court challenging this verdict. These include Mahesh Bhagwat, Swati Lakra and Soumya Mishra.

Birla mallesh of Maheshwaram mandal filed a petition in the High Court seeking an investigation by the CBI and ED after he complained to the higher officials of the state government about the irregularities in Bhoodan lands, but no action was taken. Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy took up the matter on April 24.
After hearing the arguments of the petitioner’s lawyer, the bench clarified that if the records are examined, it is clear that lands in survey number 181, 182, 194 and 195 in Nagaram belong to the Bhoodan Board. It was stated that there is a possibility of misuse of power for their own interests in the wake of serious allegations made against the higher officials in the petition.
The High Court, in its discretion, as part of the protection of social property, has issued orders to include thelands in those survey numbers in the prohibited list until the hearing of this petition is concluded.
The respondents were directed not to make any changes or additions to those lands until further orders are issued, and no alienation is allowed. In this context, several IPS officers have approached the High Court. (Maxim News)
