Shock To Kumara Swamy: Senior MLA Joins BJP

Delhi/Hyderabad, April 1 (Maxim News): JD (S) of former Chief Minister of Karnataka Kumara Swamy got a big shock before the Karnataka Assembly elections. Party’s senior MLA A.T. Ramaswamy resigned as MLA and joined BJP. He joined the party in the presence of Union Minister Anurag Thakur in Delhi.

Ramaswamy, who has worked as an MLA for JDS for four times from the Arkalgud seat, has been at loggerheads with the administration for some time now. He resigned from JD (S) on March 31 and joined the ruling BJP.

A day before Ramaswamy, another JD(S) MLA Sivalinga Gowda resigned. He is likely to join Congress. The resignation of the sitting MLAs at the end of the elections is an irreparable shock to the JD(S). The Election Commission has already announced the dates of the Karnataka Assembly elections. while the election will be held on May 10, the counting will be on May 13. Presently the Karnataka Assembly has 224 seats in which the BJP has 119 MLAs, Congress 75 and JDS 29. (Maxim News)
