Hyderabad, June 22: Sindhu Hospitals at Hitec City organised a Mega Blood Donation Drive on Monday to promote awareness about voluntary blood donation and encourage greater public participation, particularly among youth.
According to a press release, the one-day initiative collected a total of 1,000 units of blood.
The blood units were supplied to major government healthcare institutions including:
- Osmania General Hospital
- Gandhi Hospital
- Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences
- MNJ Institute of Oncology and Regional Cancer Centre
The contribution is expected to support patients requiring emergency transfusions and critical care treatment.
The programme was inaugurated by M Srinivas Reddy.
Employees from Sindhu Hospitals and the Hetero Group participated along with volunteers and members of the public.
The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Dr M Parthasaradhi Reddy.
Organisers stated that the drive also focused on educating communities about the continuing demand for safe blood donations and highlighting how a single donation can contribute to saving multiple lives.
