Sircilla fire accident | Hyderabad, August 18 (Maxim News): A Sircilla fire accident at a furniture shop in Rajanna Sircilla district claimed the life of a worker from Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out at Mahalakshmi Furniture Shop on the outskirts of Peddur. Police suspect a short circuit caused the blaze.
The worker had reportedly been sleeping inside the shop when the fire started. He could not escape and died in the incident.
Local residents noticed the flames and immediately alerted the fire department. Fire personnel reached the location and launched rescue and firefighting operations.
Three fire engines worked for more than three hours to bring the blaze under control. The intensity of the fire caused extensive damage to the furniture shop and its contents.
Sircilla fire accident causes major property loss
Police officials reached the scene after receiving information about the incident. DSP Nagendra Chari inspected the site and reviewed the firefighting operation.
Authorities shifted the deceased worker’s body to a government hospital. Doctors will conduct a postmortem examination as part of the investigation.
The shop owner estimated the property loss at around Rs 40 lakh. Officials are assessing the full extent of the damage.
Police registered a case following the incident. Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the fire and are verifying the suspected electrical short circuit.
The incident has also raised concerns about workers staying overnight inside commercial premises. Authorities are expected to examine whether adequate fire safety measures existed at the shop.
Fire officials worked for several hours because of the scale of the blaze. The incident also caused concern among residents in the surrounding area.
Police are continuing their investigation to establish the exact cause of the fire. Officials will also examine whether any safety violations contributed to the worker’s death.
