Sri Lanka Wins the Asia Cup 2022

Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup. Defeated Pakistan by 23 runs in the title fight. Sri Lanka scored 170 runs..Pak was bowled out for 147 runs.

With this, Sri Lanka became the winner of the Asia Cup for the sixth time. After losing the toss and batting first, Lanka was initially stymied by the pace of the Pak bowlers.

Kushal Mendis was ducked in the first ball. Ushanka and Gunathilaka were also out shortly after that. DeSalvo, who came next, played consistently and scored 42 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the power play.

Rajapaksa supported Lanka, who lost 5 wickets for 58 runs and were in dire straits as the Pakistani bowlers exploded. He gave a good score to the team with his excellent innings. Rajapaksa scored 71 runs in 45 balls and added the team’s score to 170 along with Hasaranga.

Among the Pakistani bowlers, Haris Rauf took 3 wickets. Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Iftikhar Ahmed got one wicket each.

Pakistan, who entered the ring with a target of 171 runs, faltered from the beginning. Captain Babar Azam failed once again. Faqir Zaman was ducked out. In this sequence, Rizwan and Iftikhar played consistently and added 71 runs for the third wicket.

However, Lankan bowlers destroyed Pakistan with consecutive wickets. Among the Lankan bowlers, Pramod took 3 wickets and Hasaranga took 3 wickets.
