Srisailam Devi Sharannavaratri Celebrations Begin

Srisailam/Hyderabad, Oct 11 (Maxim News): The Devi Sharannavaratri celebrations began at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam on Sunday, October 11. The ten-day festivities will continue until October 20, coinciding with Vijayadashami.

Temple Board Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and Executive Officer Srinivasa Rao performed the initial pujas at the Sri Bhramarambika Devi Temple premises.

On the first day, Goddess Bhramarambika appeared before devotees in the form of Shailaputri, the first of the nine forms of Goddess Durga worshipped during Navaratri.

Goddess Bhramarambika to Appear in Nine Forms

During the celebrations, Goddess Bhramarambika will be presented in different Navadurga forms over nine days. Devotees are expected to visit the temple to offer prayers and participate in the religious festivities.

The celebrations will conclude on October 20, the occasion of Vijayadashami. The final day’s programme will include Shami Puja and Theppotsavam, according to the temple announcement.

The annual Sharannavaratri festival holds religious significance for devotees of Goddess Bhramarambika. The temple, dedicated to Sri Bhramaramba and Mallikarjuna Swamy, is one of the prominent pilgrimage centres in Andhra Pradesh.
