Starlight Strides 2026 | Hyderabad, Oct. 26: More than 1,100 women participated in the sixth edition of Starlight Strides – Women’s Night Run 2026, organised by the Hyderabad Runners Society at Gachibowli on Saturday night. The event celebrated fitness, safety and women’s empowerment through an exclusive women-only running programme.
Arun Kumar, president of the Hyderabad Runners Society, said the event encouraged women to prioritise their physical and mental well-being, build confidence and adopt healthier lifestyles. He described the night run as a celebration of womanhood and women’s contribution to society’s socio-economic progress.
Several participants wore sarees during the run, adding a traditional touch to the event and drawing cheers from fellow runners and spectators.
Starlight Strides Features Timed Runs and Women’s Training Programme
The event featured three categories: a 10K Timed Run, a 5K Timed Run and a 5K Fun Run. The categories welcomed women across different age groups and fitness levels.

Under the Hyderabad Runners Society’s Gift a Run initiative, complimentary registrations were provided to women from non-governmental organisations, including SABA, to encourage inclusive participation.
Another highlight was the graduation run of the Society’s Women’s Couch25K programme. More than 180 women completed the 5K graduation run after participating in a six-week structured training programme. Seventeen women mentors guided the participants and were felicitated for their contributions.
The event also featured the “Run in Saree, Win Big” contest, presented by Mandir. Participants who ran in traditional attire competed for gift vouchers worth a total of ₹2.5 lakh.
The pre-event expo was held at Brand Mandir in Manikonda, Hyderabad, a day before the main event.
Through Starlight Strides, the Hyderabad Runners Society continues to promote an active lifestyle among women and encourage a safer, more inclusive running culture in Hyderabad.
