Tecnimont (MAIRE) Teams Up With Mumbai Engineering Institutes To Foster Talent Development For Energy Transition Innovation

Mumbai, 19 July 2024 – MAIRE (MAIRE.MI) is proud to announce that TECNIMONT (Integrated E&C Solutions), through its Indian subsidiary Tecnimont Private Limited, signed a collaboration with two esteemed engineering institutes in Mumbai, Vivekanand Education Society (VES) and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) to foster innovation in the energy transition space through the Group’s Scholarship and Fellowship programs.

As part of this initiative, TCMPL will support deserving students, ensuring equal gender representation. For the current academic year, 10 scholarships have been activated for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students of the Automation and Robotics department at VES Institute of Technology, focusing on early engagement on energy transition topics.

Additionally, TCMPL, in collaboration with VJTI, provides annual research grants to support 12 Master of Technology students and 2 PhD students in the Department of Energy Security & Sustainability, specifically within the disciplines of Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering.

The project topics, screened by MAIRE’s technical team, range from analyzing sustainable solutions for cement production and blast furnace combustion by-products to studying hydrogen storage and transport materials that reduce hydrogen leakage. Quarterly review meetings with faculty and company mentors are also scheduled for students.

These selected students will benefit from the guidance of MAIRE’s technical team, enhancing their academic and professional growth. In addition to the research grants, TCMPL will host a series of industrial-oriented sessions at both VES Institute of Technology and VJTI. These lectures are designed to bridge the gap between industry and academia, providing students with precious insights and practical knowledge that complement their classroom learning. By relating theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, TCMPL aims to prepare the next generation of engineers for the dynamic challenges of the industry.
