LRS application clearance | Hyderabad, May 8 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has intensified efforts to clear pending Layout Regularisation Scheme applications across the state.
As part of the initiative, the government announced a 25 percent fee concession for applicants who pay LRS charges between July 1 and July 31.
Officials said the government is giving special focus to applications pending in the jurisdictions of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority HMDA, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation GHMC, municipal corporations, and municipalities. Authorities have been instructed to ensure faster disposal of applications through a streamlined process.
The government has also set up special help desks in three municipal corporation limits to assist applicants and resolve technical issues quickly. Senior officials said dedicated monitoring systems are being introduced to speed up scrutiny and approvals.

Officials stated that special measures are being implemented in the HMDA limits due to the high number of pending applications. So far, 85,954 applicants under HMDA have paid LRS fees. The payments generated revenue of Rs 261.72 crore for the government.
According to official data, HMDA received a total of 2,90,369 LRS applications. Among them, fee intimations were issued for 2,01,453 applications. However, authorities did not issue fee intimations for another 54,021 applications due to various technical and legal reasons.
Out of the applicants who received fee intimations, nearly 1.50 lakh people are yet to pay the required charges. Officials said awareness campaigns and help desk support are being used to encourage applicants to complete payments before the concession deadline.
HMDA authorities have approved 33,096 applications from those who paid the fees. At the same time, officials rejected 1,850 applications after verification. Another 34,183 applications are still pending with applicants for submission of additional documents or clarifications.
Meanwhile, 30,656 applications remain under official scrutiny and verification. Officials expect the pace of approvals to increase during the concession period as more applicants complete fee payments.
The state government believes that faster clearance of LRS applications will help improve urban planning, increase revenue collections, and resolve long pending property regularisation issues across Telangana.
