Hyderabad, August 29: Telangana BJP leaders are preparing for a two day protest to support people affected by the 22A issue.
The party plans to hold the protest on September 5 and 6. State BJP president Ramchander Rao will lead the programme.
The planned protest follows the party’s recent agitation over pending fee reimbursements. BJP leaders have said they will continue raising public issues.
A meeting chaired by Ramchander Rao is scheduled to discuss the proposed 22A protest. BJP MPs, MLAs and MLCs will attend the meeting.
Leaders are expected to discuss the protest programme in detail. They will also review the arrangements and decide on the next phase of the agitation.
The meeting will also focus on the party’s organisational position across Telangana. Leaders may discuss measures to strengthen the BJP at the grassroots level.
BJP Prepares Wider Political Action
Ramchander Rao is expected to brief party leaders about the future course of action. He may also outline the strategy for the 22A protest after the meeting.
Meanwhile, BJP deputy floor leader Payal Shankar is preparing another campaign focused on farmers.
Shankar plans to undertake a farmer march from Adilabad to the Telangana Assembly. He wants the state government to implement the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
The proposed farmer march adds another public issue to the BJP’s ongoing political programme in Telangana.
The party has recently increased its focus on issues involving students, farmers and affected citizens. The upcoming programmes are expected to provide a platform for BJP leaders to press their demands.
